THE EXPERIENCE OF ENFOTEK GIVES US CONFIDENCE

Serdar Güldal, Director of Corporate Development and Sustainability at Doteks Textiles, answered Enfotek's questions. Güldal pointed out that they trust the expert Enfotek team and expressed, “Enfotek is not only a software company, but a company from whom one can also receive consultancy. Their expert team provides us with confidence as they understand our demands and offer support in this matter.” Furthermore, Güldal demonstrated how Enfotek EDS is actively used in the business processes at Doteks with examples.

Could you introduce yourself, please?

Hello, my name is Serdar Güldal, I am an Industrial Engineer. I work as the Director of Corporate Development and Sustainability at Doteks Textiles. I previously held roles such as information systems manager, planning manager, and quality and system development manager in the ready-to-wear textile industry.

Could you provide us with some information about your company?

Doteks was established in 2000 by our Chairman of the Board, Mr. Gürkan Tekin. Approximative 1,500 personnel are employed at our factories in Mersin and Egypt. With our production capacity of one million units per month, we export in the denim and non-denim upper and lower groups to European and American markets.

What were the main reasons why you chose to work with Enfotek EDS?

We chose Enfotek EDS in part because the ERP system was created by a team experienced in textile processes. Additionally, Enfotek offers consultancy in addition to being a software company. Team Enfotek are experts in their field and inspire confidence in us. A company that also understands our demands and offers significant support.

How does working with Enfotek EDS change your business processes? What is the greatest advantage it provides your company?

We work with Enfotek EDS throughout every step overall - from designing our products to the point when they are packaged for dispatch. We can monitor, assess and improve all our processes. During our journey, we upgraded from EDS5 to EDS8. Here is an example how we use Enfotek EDS: we are able to track production instantly, thanks to barcode rendering in our workshops and factories. Besides, this feature contributes greatly to clients' traceability audits, marking it as Best Practice.

We integrated Enfotek EDS with our industrial devices and digitalized our processes such as our fabric check machines. Enfotek EDS enables us to transition fabric checking processes to a digital format. We integrated washing prescriptions with Enfotek EDS' software. that allows us to follow stock levels online after automatically transferring used chemicals (weighed using electronic scales) to the system stock exit. This benefits, inter alia, compliance with Inditex GTW audits and HIGG' proof checks. Furthermore, we control the rate of collection times transformed into orders as well as collection that were not ordered but were billed.

With important additions of Monthly Performance Reports, autonomous loading time, extra rates for daytime production and cloth, appropriated time for order-dispatches can also be measured. These also help us identify reasons for delays and make improvements.

Aren't Doteks' procedures also integrated with Enfotek EDS?

We ensure control over information and product flows by integrating company procedures and our operations with Enfotek EDS. To give a few examples, it's not possible to dispatch even a single meter of fabric from the warehouse without checking the fabric of the relevant order, preparing a trim card, having a supplier contract, and receiving a pattern approval. Complaints originating from fabric manufacturers or production suppliers can be tracked online from the system. Purchases currently fall under the approval of the relevant department director within a certain limit, and we are unable to dispatch products to unauthorized workshops in our supply chain. We facilitate the request for production samples needed from the production through an approval mechanism.

What are the general comments of EDS users in your company about the system?

Establishing an ERP program in your company framework- facilitating its usage is a patience requiring devil. It's very important to initially provide good training and timely support to users. For this reason, we have prepared a 440-page, task-based Program Usage Guide. We are giving training on relevant Enfotek EDS processes according to job description to new personnel, and we provide this training given through the usage guide that we've prepared. Users are satisfied with Enfotek EDS as they can access data in all processes. Another feature that users like is the flexibility of being able to customize the screens. We also have a system in which we evaluate our users' necessities or complaints with surveys within the firm.

What is the feature that you most like about EDS?

While integrating all our business processes in our firm with the ERP system, doing this with a team that are experts on the subject turns into a great convenience. The system, apart from normal reporting, provides instantaneous access to large data with cockpit reports. Also, SQL database usage in the program's mainframe brings great facility in doing desired reports when you want to work with business-intelligence applications. Despite there being English language support, workers in Egypt prefer to use Enfotek EDS in Turkish. This is resultant from the success of the program interface.

What do you say about Enfotek's consulting services?

The company founder Mr. Tuğrul Tamtürk, the General Coordinator Mrs. Aslı Tamtürk, and our project consultant Mrs. Berna Şenol are people who are both knowledgeable and experienced in their sectors. I can attest to the fact that we have successfully figured out many solutions, requests, and needs in collaboration.

Would you recommend EDS to other firms?

I would certainly advise firms active in the ready-to-wear industry - having needs for an ERP program to interact with Enfotek. They will encounter their needs and issues in Enfotek EDS.

Thank you very much Serdar for your invaluable responses.

Thank you too.
