Hello, I am Elçin Yaşar, a textile engineer. I have been in the textile industry for 11 years. For a long time, I worked as a manager in enterprises where towels and bathrobes were produced. I have been working in the field of central planning for the last few years. I have been working at Gökhan Tekstil for 9 months. Here I am planning and EDS Project Management.
Can we get information about Gökhan Tekstil?
Gökhan Tekstil started its activities in 1977. Today, we are a company that produces towels, bathrobes, home textiles and cotton fabrics with its approximately 700 personnel, with departments such as yarn, weaving, dye finishing, apparel and embroidery. We also have our own brand called Soft Cotton. We also offer many products such as bathrobes, towels, bed linen and slippers to the market under this brand name.
How was the meeting process of Gökhan Tekstil with EDS?
Since Gökhan Tekstil has been in this sector for many years, we had an archival need. It was necessary to transfer the knowledge and experience of our former employees, as well as our documents and papers, into the digital environment. Also, we did not want a system with different screens and improvements when it comes to apparel and other screens when it comes to weaving. We were looking for a ready system. As a result of our research, we have seen that strong companies in the market work with EDS and set up their systems in their businesses. Reference was very important to us. So, how would you evaluate your EDS experience at the end of the 9-month period?
I can say that we have made quite a progress in the project. We're at 60 percent. The preliminary cost has started to be processed and we can now get the results from there. We can see how much we paid for which product, what the cost of the product is, down to the smallest detail, from EDS.
What are the strengths of EDS?
EDS gives no room for error. I like alert channels. If the system gives an error, we see that it is due to mistakes somewhere in the data we entered. It gives us confidence in terms of software.
